(client/server version 5.24 or later)
(Default = FALSE)
CLIENT-INITIAL-MSG TRUE | FALSE
Determines if the PC Client (or screen saver) must use extra level of initial protocol in communication with the MOMI server on the NonStop System.
The keyword is provided primarily for environments that issue random communication messages on open TCP/IP ports.
The MOMI Server on the NonStop System opens and listens a TCP/IP port as specified by TCPIP-LISTEN. Certain security testing programs may open the port and attempt communication. Using this keyword activates an additional level of required protocol.
A side effect of activating this feature is that no MOMI PC Client prior to version 5.08 or MOMI screen saver prior to version 4.13 (issued in 5.24 release package) can communicate with the server.
Side note: Connecting to the MOMI Server port with a program, such as Telnet, does not introduce any security issue as 1) no action could be taken, 2) nor authority granted.
Example:
Client-initial-msg true == initial message on
